As we stand tall to celebrate the
HIJAB today, I wish to dedicate this to my beautiful sisters worldwide who
stand in defence of Islam, the Quran and the Sunnah of the noble Prophet Muhammad
(PBUH). To start with, the word ‘Hijab’ means a form of garment or a veil that
covers the sensitive parts of a female body, like the breast, buttocks etc.,
depending on the length of the Hijab.
Basically, the use of Hijab is a command
from Allah (S.W.T), the creator of the heaven and the earth-- (Q33 vs 59). Hijab
is what differentiate a Muslim lady from non – Muslim lady, it also represents the
symbol of Islam. Hijab is unique because it present you in a way that make
people respect and cherish you for who you are. Sisters’
#Hijab is our right.
Hijab is our pride.
Hijab is our shield.
Hijab is halal.
Hijab is our beauty and our pride. It defines who we are.
And we wear it to please our creator, Allah (s.w.t), on all
the believing women. Hijab is good because it helps reduce the evils on earth.
For a Muslimah (a Muslim lady), the word Hijab is accompanied with a lot of
responsibilities.
Firstly, it takes a lot of confidence
and high self-esteem to pull on the Hijab in the kind of world we live today! The
‘’world’’ believes that Hijab is an oppression on women; that it is forced on
them without their own will. As for me, I think religion is not by force,
although to some people the use of Hijab is not necessary but left to me and
the Sunnah it is compulsory. If you come across any one putting on the Hijab
you should really appreciate such courage and believe. Trust me the wearing of Hijab is not an easy
task.
Secondly, Hijab helps you to find
your place in life, it makes you discover who you truly are because the use of Hijab
saves you from distraction and unnecessary attention. When you walk with your
beautiful garment known as Hijab, people will respect you in the society and
also expect you to do no wrong just like the queen of England “does no wrong”. I
just want to make this point clear to the world that wearing the beautiful
garment known as Hijab does not represent the symbol of perfection simply
because no one is perfect. The Hijab is a representation of dignity and a
symbol of modesty.
I am human just like every other woman
in the world, so if I make a mistake I’ll expect you to put the blame on me not
Islam. In other words, people should stop attributing my mistakes to my
religion like “that is how they are”. No,
my Islam is a religion of peace and perfection. Islam is perfect, but I’m not. Hijab
is more than just putting a veil over your head, I think people need not to be
more than just religious but also righteous and godly and stop making society
seeing the Hijabites as hypocrites.
We need to go deep into our religion to
understand it before putting it to practice. I have observed that lot of youths
these days who wear the Hijab wear it because of their folk’s pressure. Parents
should not only force Hijab on their children, they should also try as much as
they could to explain to them about the reasons, benefits and responsibilities
behind the use of Hijab. In the light of
the above discussion, the fear of Allah is what everyone should have in mind.
Sisters should not only be religious but
also strive towards righteousness. Hypocrisy will not make you fill great but
instead it makes you fool yourself. You are the best sister in the mosque, who
engages in mosque activities but at the same time you are also the one who
insults everyone at home, you are careless and rude. Oh sister, daughters of Islam
veil yourself and become modest.
In conclusion, Islam is a guided religion
which has clear principles. It is simple, it is a way of life, and it is a nice
religion. It is the food for life and the melody to your socialization.
Sisters, let us keep on with the right attitude and we‘ll reach the great altitude
IN-SHA-ALLAH.
